Have you been paying premiums for years and years but the insurer just notified you that your policy is about to lapse?
If you’re dealing with one of these problems or something different there are ways to deal with a life insurance complaint that can get you results. First, you need to decide what you want. Call your State Insurance Commissioner
The authority of the State Insurance Department is limited in many ways, but it is an option you may want to explore. Your State’s Department of Insurance has a Consumer Division which can investigate your Complaint and if they have authority to act, can get your matter resolved. One thing to be aware of however is that most matters cannot be resolved by a Department of Insurance and the insurer likely knows this already. If you do use this option for resolution the Department will contact your insurance company and ask for a response to your life insurance complaint. This service is free and available to all consumers. Here we’ve made it easy to get in touch with your State Insurance Commissioner by posting a full list of US State Offices.
Hire an attorney
You can hire an attorney to file a complaint against the insurer and its agent. Some attorneys will take a case on a contingency basis, meaning that little or no money is required up front, while others will require an up-front retainer. One thing to consider with regard to hiring an attorney is that it can be costly in the long run. Also, lawsuits that involve life insurance complaints can often take several years to resolve. I am in a state of shock.
About 30 or so years ago. I was working for Time Warner. I took out a life ins policy with Prudential for approx $150,000. I lost the job in 2002. But kept the life ins for $70,000. It has been steadily increasing over the years, I turned 70 and suddenly the bill has doubled! Over $600 every 3 months, and it will keep doing this every 5 years. I have paid thousands of dollars over the 30 years. If I cancel I have just been told I will get nothing. So in fact I have paid thousands of dollars for the privilege of paying a bill every 3 months. I can’t believe this is legal. But I guess it is. I feel I’d be better of dead. I am disgusted that they can do this
Is there any organization that is fighting this disgusting thing?

I worked for a very large retailer for 20 years. I had life insurance on myself $75,000 and $25,000 on my wife. I had to resign last April 2019 to stay home and take care of my wife after she had 2 heart attacks. My insurance notified me that my insurance stopped on the day I retired. The option was to pay them a lump sum of $111,516 withing 30 days in order to retain my $100,000 insurance on myself and my wife. I sure would like to get those premiums back that were withheld from 20 years out of my paychecks.

Primerica Life insurance : my mom passed 8/19/2020> i contacted them to file a death claim on 08/20/2020 i received a claims number and was told they would send out the forms for me to file and to send the death certificate with the forms. on 9/9/20 i completed the forms and got them notarized mailed them with the certificate by certified mail with a receipt return. after that date i received letters requesting this information on the following dates, 9/14/20, 9/21/20 and 10/5/2020. I called the insurance company after receiving each letter from them to tell them i had sent the forms and death certificate. They kept telling me to resend it. On 10/12/2020, i went to the post office with my receipt from the certified letter i mailed and they scanned the receipt wich showed the forms i sent was received and signed for on 09/22/2020 and I was given a copy of the signed receipt but the insurance company have never sent me a receipt back where they signed for it. My mom had this insurance since 02/06/1990 and has never missed a monthly payment or been late. She has paid more money into the insurance than it is paing her death benefit. This is only a 10,000.00 policy and the premium increased from $24.00 monthly to $134.00 when she passed. I am trying to file a complaint with insurance commissioner.

Be aware of AAA Whole Life Insurance. I bought and paid online a policy on 5/29/2021. What a nightmare experience. It is 6/1/2021. STILL, NO RECEIPT, NO POLICY and they have the worst customer service, telling me it’s my problem.
OK let’s get this right. AAA Life insurance pays millions of dollars to advertise to attract customers.
I do research and pick them. I pay the payment. NO receipt. Waited 4 days and spent 6 hours just trying to get a receipt. The customer service said it’s my problem. Nasty, not helpful, and really could care less, they have my money. Looking for a new insurance company to do business with.
Crossing off Prudential and Primerica Life insurance
Buyer beware of AAA Whole Life Insurance. Their slogan: “Screw you PAY ME!!!!! and you won’t get a receipt or a policy!!!!
Shady to say the least.

Colonial Penn carried my brother’s life insurance policy. He passed 9/21/21. I notified the insurance company 9/29/21. His death certificate was delayed but I was finally able to send everything required and it was received by Colonial Penn on 10/28/21. Now I get monthly letters saying they haven’t received the docs. Each time I call to verify they do have the documents. It’s now almost 3 months and the $10 K policy still has produced no check. The company however does continue sending my brother offers to increase his policy. Their TV ads are only to hook you.

Globe life insurance, you know the company that targets grandparents to purchase insurance for their grandchildren. I purchased for my 4 grandkids. Bought when they were under 6 mos. old. Great price for a scant 5,000.00 policy.
My oldest granddaughter turned 26 and the policy premium went up triple. I called Globe and they would not give me any info because they say she (my granddaughter) owns the policy even though I’m the person who has paid for over 20 years. What I’m really angry about is their advertising says you are locked in for life at the premium. I even sent their advertisement, hi lighting their quoted policy. Just got reply stating that this is now a modified whole life plan.

John Hancock long term care is a complete joke! They all of a sudden decide they want you to turn service bills in on the last day of the month which is fine but they fail to tell you that it will be another 15 days before you get paid. They don’t tell u none of this when they sell u the policy it clearly states in there policy that you can turn service bills in daily. The memo clearly states that all facility care to me that means a nursing home or assisted living home. I am a” independent”caregiver and have bills to pay and they do not revolve around your timing!!! They have to be paid when they are due and not when u get ready to mail a check.

PRIMERICA has sending the same letter out for approximately a month. Stating they are still waiting on my daughter’s criminal records check. I find this quite interesting because she was a military dependent. Lived in Alabama since she was 5 years old and never worked outside the state. However, her second half of her policy has been in contestable status since for over two months. The claim adjusters just reply with the same script when l call and inquire, but advised me l continue checking back every 5 to 7 days. She passed due to bacteria meningitis at the age of 29. I didn’t know l was the beneficiary because she was remarried, however her daughter was from a previous marriage and she wanted to make sure she was provided for. Not knowing it was going to take months or that there was a possibility the claim could be denied. The first half of the policy was used to pay off debt, secure and open a trust account for her daughter and to make sure l had taken care of my obligations because l was truly struggling financially and she didn’t want me to be concerned with that. She just wanted me to raise my granddaughter. Haven’t said that, l have not been able to spend any time with my granddaughter since her mom’s memorial service. Her father is not cooperating because the she’s receiving social security and she’s now a provider for her father and grandmother. I have spoken to attorneys regarding her living conditions but due to the processing of my daughter’s insurance claim, l haven’t been able to retain an attorney. Any reason why a criminal background check would take a month for a 29 yr old who was military affiliated and worked for three Fortune 500 companies such as Enterprise, Penske, and Verizon? Is it just me or am l overly suspicious of the insurance companies plausible reputation for paying out beneficiaries in a timely manner. I just happened to goggle the insurance company and was totally amazed at the allegation other beneficiaries had made. Are they actually trying to find a reason not to pay out the claim? I would think a reputable insurance company would conclude investigation of health and background during the prescreening process and cause undue hardship for those who have lost their love ones 💕💕 I’m just confused??? A criminal background check, really????

I was harassed for months during the year 2020 by a Prudential insurance agent who refused to accept that I did not want the insurance plan they were trying to sell me. This led to them deceiving my understanding of the contractual premium monthly payment, which ended up being higher than the agreed-upon amount on my contract. I have copies of their numerous phone calls from multiple phone numbers and email receipts of me telling them to stop contacting me because I am not interested. But they still refused to respect my wishes. This led them to sell me a life insurance policy and now realize it is not what I thought it was supposed to be. I only began to realize the incorrect premium monthly payment amount after several months of the plan being active. I need help resolving this matter, may you help me.
