Has Your Life Insurance Claim Been Denied or Delayed?
Life insurance companies do not want to pay claims. If your claim is under a contestability review the insurance investigator is looking for reasons to deny your claim.
We can help.
If the policy is less than 2 years old, or if the policy was reinstated within 2 years, the death claim will be investigated for fraud and material misrepresentation. This is an automatic event that every claim goes through. The Center for Life Insurance Disputes are nationally recognized experts at getting contestable life insurance claims paid.
We know the underwriting process and the claims process. Because the insurer is looking back at the issuance of the policy, both underwriting and claims knowledge are essential to get a claim paid.
Many beneficiaries of life insurance claims don’t know that they should have their own claim representative working for them to get the claim approved and paid. Because the insurer is looking for reasons to deny a claim, a claimant needs someone who will fight for them and get their claim approved.
The Center for Life Insurance Disputes represents beneficiaries of life insurance claims. We get claims paid for our clients — even if they’ve been denied. No money down. Free consultations.

We Get Life Insurance Claims Paid Fast
We understand all the details of the life insurance claims process and the things that cause claims to be denied. In addition to the possibility of a denial there is almost always the lengthy process of the investigation when the insurer tells you nothing. We’ve seen some of these investigations go on for over a year.
Medical records usually cause the longest delays. When we take over a claim, instead of waiting for the insurer we get the records ourselves. Then we assign a medical expert to review the records and form opinions about why the person’s medical history should not effect the claim.
Another item that delays claims are autopsy reports. We’ve found these to be very damaging to otherwise payable claims. We address the findings of the medical examiner and whether their findings are comprehensive and based on a long history of health information or just a small snapshot of information that can cause a claim to be denied.
There are many additional documents and reports that may be needed before a claim examination is complete. These can include police and sheriff reports, accident reports, criminal convictions, driving records, psychology records, and so on. The insurer may demand certain information during their investigation that they aren’t entitled to. If we discover this we’ll shut-down those efforts.
After all relevant information has been gathered and reviewed we write formal claim opinions. We take all of the information we’ve gathered and we write a formal Report describing why the claim should be paid based on the analysis we’ve conducted. We rely on specific evidence, underwriting guides for life insurance, and the conclusions our team identifies that support payment of the claim.
Our opinions carry a lot of weight in the life insurance industry. Stephen C. Burgess has been approved by many US Courts to offer his opinions for life insurance claims and disputes. His testimonial history, claims and underwriting experience, and industry knowledge make his opinions about claims more qualified and respected to both insurance and legal professionals than nearly anyone.
Our medical and forensic experts, likewise, have impeccable credentials and understand the marriage between their field of expertise and the life insurance claim at issue.
Life Insurance Claim Delays
A common question asked is, “how long does an insurer have to pay a claim.” The answer is usually, 30 days. But in a life insurance claim investigation an insurer can obtain records before it makes a claim decision.
Claim delays are typically due to the time it takes an insurer to locate missing medical, legal, or financial records. We use our own HIPPA form and expedite this process by collecting all the records needed to complete a claim evaluation.
Once our comprehensive claim file is submitted the insurer will have all the information they need to pay your claim quickly and in full. We’ll follow through to make sure they do.
Life Insurance Claims Denied
When a life insurance claim is denied the insurer will send a letter stating their reasons for the denial. Denials happen for a number of reasons but by far the most common is medical information that wasn’t disclosed. The term is medical misrepresentation.
This brings up many issues like; Did the insured know of the medical condition? Did the doctor tell the insured? When was the insured diagnosed? Are the facts of the medical condition justification to deny the claim?
We dig into all of it.
Claim denials are usually due to incomplete facts and missing information. We are the most experienced firm doing claim representation for beneficiaries. After we’ve done all of our investigation we’ll uncover facts that go well beyond what the insurer’s investigator has done. In this way we find new evidence that wasn’t even considered when the claim was denied.
We often present claim files to insurers that may be more complete than their own files. This attention to detail is how we’ve been able to get more than $250 million paid out to our clients.
