In the early 1970’s I purchase a Group Universal policy. The premiums were reasonable. When I married in 1982, I added my wife to the policy. At that time, we were insured for 100K ea. I still have this policy today. PROBLEM: As a retiree at age 75, Prudential has increased the premiums to a point that I have been forced to reduce the policy to 50K ea. to keep the policy affordable. Now as I am older, the premiums are just over $600. /quarter. I call customer service and get no definitive advice. other than they will continue to increase. To me, this is a LEGAL PONZI SCHEME ! Now we are on fixed income and our only recourse is to stop the policy? This is insane! I am sure we are not the only ones experiencing this. Your comments / advise would be appreciated.

We purchased a life insurance policy from Prudential with premiums that increased year by year. At first it wasn’t much of an increase. Thirty years later, I realized I should have stopped when our son came of age and bought a cheaper term life policy. We do get some dividends but they don’t amount to much and we have to pay income tax on them. the company has now increased the rate from $410 to $450 a month. That is a rip off. There is not maturity date. We were mislead and stupid to buy this policy. I don’t seem to have any choice but to kiss all that money good bye and find a cheaper policy.

My father has paid his premium for many years and was specifically concerned about the conditions for which they may not pay. He was in a car accident and died as a result. All confirmed by the medical examiner, cause of death was complications from the accident. When time to collect from the insurance, we were told your claim is denied because he had an underlying condition which was diabetes. He knew he had this condition, they knew he had this condition, he paid them every month for years and they collected and continued to collect for years. If they knew he had this condition then why did they continue to carry him and collect payments. They just kept taking the money when they knew they would never have to pay out. If that was the case then under what circumstance would he be able to collect the insurance, if any? We were denied collecting his life insurance and they knew he had diabetes. Why would he continue to pay for life insurance if there was no possible way to collect upon his death. Please help.

Both of my parents had life insurance at Prudential. I am 100% positive I was included as a beneficiary on the policies or the policies were paid to the estate. The executors of the will, refuse to provide me with the policies. How do I go about getting Prudential or anyone to research this?
