Life Insurance Complaint Solutions
If you feel victimized and frustrated by a life insurance company it might help to write a comment warning other consumers about your experience. We encourage your comments here. But in addition to telling people how you feel The Center for Life Insurance Disputes can do something about it for you. We can get your dispute resolved, get your death claim paid or your premiums refunded with no legal fees.
There are a lot of complaint websites and consumer review websites like Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs, Reddit, and others that allow consumers to post complaints about life insurance companies. Some of these sites are helpful, but most offer no voice, no useful information and no solutions.
We’re different. We offer an actual solution to life insurance complaints.
We’ll take your matter to the insurer with the history, documents and legal support that will get your dispute resolved. The most common life insurance complaints we represent are:
- The insurance company is delaying payment of a claim.
- The insurance company has denied a claim.
- You bought a policy that is more than you can afford.
- Your agent lied about how much money you’ll have in the cash value.
- Your policy is going to lapse unless you pay a lot more premium.
One of these may describe your situation, or maybe yours is a little different. The way we begin is with a free telephone consultation to learn from you what’s happened.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will it help if I call the insurance company and make a complaint?
Yes. The reason we say this is because there are standard processes that life insurance companies follow when they receive complaints and they must respond. But, a big part of the complaint process includes the need for documentation and proof. It’s not enough to give a written account of how you were harmed and how angry you are, this type of complaint usually goes nowhere.
Life insurers are looking for specific things that can prove you have a legitimate complaint but they’re not likely to tell you what they’re looking for. Unless you have experience with the life insurance complaint process you aren’t likely to get your claim paid or your premium refunded.
Q: Can the Department of Insurance help me?
It’s best to think of a state’s Department of Insurance as an organization that has limited oversight and even more limited enforcement powers. A department of insurance oversees things like; the filing of new policies an insurer wants to sell in a State, proper form filings, an insurer’s financial requirements, licensing of agents, and other activities that have a lot to do with collecting fees.
What a Department of Insurance doesn’t do is make life insurance claim decisions. They won’t say whether a claim should or should not be paid. So, don’t waste your time complaining or letting them investigate. They don’t have the authority to do anything about denied life insurance claims or claims under a contestable investigation.
A Department of Insurance also can’t force a life insurer to refund your premiums. They might fine an agent for bad practices, and they might terminate an agent’s license, but that doesn’t get you a refund. That doesn’t put money back in your pocket.
Q: How long will it take to resolve my complaint?
It can take weeks to months to resolve a life insurance complaint, depending on the type of complaint, the documentation needed and the parties involved. We strive to resolve complaints as quickly as possible.
Q: What is the phone number for the Corebridge Financial Customer Service Help Center?

Leah Gordon-Arnold says
I have taken over my Family Trust, which has an AIG/USL life benefit policy. The beneficiary, my mother, is 87 and has dementia, and has no records that I can reference so I called AIG/Corebridge.
Starting in late March, I have wasted days, hours, being passed around by reps to different #s to try and obtain a Statement for this policy and NO ONE will help me. Even the Trust Attorney who set up the Trust years ago, cannot get any information from AIG/Corebridge, and if I hadn’t ACCIDENTALLY heard the balance on one of the phone menus with current information, I would think there WAS NO policy.
The need is URGENT as I’m trying to do a refi on our family home to pay for memory care, and just need a copy of the statement for this policy to submit for closing and I can’t get one. I’ve tried so many numbers, emails, faxes, and – finally I received a response from them via email and advised to contact 1-800-633-6259 as THAT is the correct department, and of course, when I call this morning, they have no idea and gave me yet another number, yet another menu.
This is not a small policy, and the fact that NO ONE at Corebridge, is willing to help me with this AIG/USL policy for my mother. It is CRIMINAL that no one has accountability for helping policyholders — older policy holders with these AIG policies would have no idea how to reach someone, and so I’m submitting a complaint as advised on this page, because I am outraged at the lack of ANY support for our policy, as no one can provide any type of assistance and even my written requests that I was advised to submit, are unanswered.
This is beyond lack of professionalism and accountability to their older, senior clients that have been customers for YEARS, like my Mother.
If there is anyone else I should cc on my Complaint to AIG/Corebridge, please let me know. I have 2 days to get a statement to my bank before our refinance goes off the rails, and I can’t reach anyone to save my life that can give me access to our account.
